The Office of Academic Programs has been reorganized, and the departments that formerly were part of OAP are now part of the newly formed Office of Undergraduate Education (OUE). The OUE web site is still under construction, and as soon as it is ready to be published this url will resolve to that web address. More information on the Office of Undergradute Education is included below.
The Office of Undergraduate Education was created with the appointment of Carl Gutierrez-Jones as Dean of Undergraduate Education and Associate Vice Chancellor for UCSB in January 2016. The office’s purpose is to advocate for undergraduate issues, support and foster the programs to benefit undergraduate education, and to ensure that UCSB’s twin goals of educational excellence and accessibility are upheld. In support of these goals, the office acts as a guiding body for campus-wide policy related to undergraduate education and establishes new programs to meet the ever-changing needs of the campus’s students.
The office is also responsible for direct administration of a number of existing programs, including: Letters & Science Academic Advising, Education Abroad Program, Summer Sessions, and Instructional Development. Links to the website of the latter three departments are provided in the panel at the left of the page.
